Meant to post this last night but my old roommate Shawn is staying over for a few days and we ended up playing split screen Xbox 360 games for like 3 hours instead lmao. Something evil takes hold of me when I play Halo 3 to this day (not so much call of duty because I still kinda suck at that one).
Thanksgiving week. My boss told us that they're not checking badge swipes at the office this week so everyone's working from home which I am definitely taking advantage of. It sounds like my contract is going to get renewed too which is great. A recruiter from the staffing agency I work with called me the other day to talk about another gig and when I said I was already hired but wasn't sure if my contract was getting renewed she was like Hmm let me see what's up. Then the next day I get an email from the guy I worked with to get my current job being like "Yeah they want to renew you they're just working on the details" so that's nice! Hopefully a full time hire is next so I can get some real PTO.
I'm heading home for the holiday later this week. A few years ago my parents decided they didn't want to do anything crazy for Thanksgiving anymore which I welcomed so it'll mostly be lounging around my parents house watching movies. I need a break pretty badly I think. I haven't been taking time off because I don't have PTO as a contractor and I've been saving to do a couple small trips in the new year but work has been a little bit too crazy recently so some wfh and a day off will probably fix me. I did go to a pinball league friend's Friendsgiving last weekend which was a ton of fun and another group of friends and I always do a pre-Thanksgiving dinner at a "fancy" restaurant so I'm looking forward to that too.
Also I got my Tumblr account back too lol. I was actually writing a nice big post about growing up with Tumblr and moving off of it as I grew older etc. but after writing most of it and sitting on it for a few days I think I'm good on not posting it. I don't think bearblog needs yet another post about the internet or technology and how much we dislike it. I will probably use it less and less tbh, the whole experience of getting randomly banned kind of soured me on continuing to use that platform!
