I'm thinking that these whenever I feel like it posts (ideally weekly but I am struggling to keep to that schedule lmao) are going to replace the monthly zest ones. I'm having zest every week to be honest and its easier to write a weekly-ish recap than a monthly one.
Last weekend my friend and I saw the metalcore band Loathe and they were insanely good. It had been at least a decade since the last time I went to a metal show (and it was probably for the same friend I was with's band lol) and it made me miss going to heavier shows! The crowd was really good and I was moving the whole time. It was fun too because I didn't really know this band, my buddy was like Hey I got an extra ticket come thru and I listened to the album once and thought ok sure! I will definitely have to add more metal shows to my calendar for next year and take more chances on bands I don't know super well.
Other than that it's been pretty quiet (in a good way!) the last week or so. I got through most of my busy projects at work so it's been slower while they assign me to some new stuff. No updates on the contract yet but my boss keeps telling me he's fighting for me so that's good at least. I updated my resume and LinkedIn and I already had a couple annoying interactions with recruiters. I'm registered for pinball league finals too in a couple weeks, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to play with my division yet or in the overflow one. I'm excited to hang out with my friends mostly but it would be funny if I actually did well.
In crazy news though my Tumblr account of 12 years was randomly banned today? No idea what happened because I'm not posting anything bad lmao. I submitted the appeal thing but knowing that Tumblr is basically dead in the water I'm not really expecting anything to happen. I'm mad about it but not that mad. I have a backup of my posts but at the same time I don't know if I actually want to read anything I wrote on there 10 years ago and part of me is glad that it's now gone from the internet. I could make a new blog but I don't really know if I want to. The only thing I'd miss are the mutuals that I've had on there for years but I'm still in contact with most of them on other sites so nothing is really changing on that front. Like I've written on here before I'm kind of a social media hater now so maybe this is a blessing in disguise lol. We'll see!!
I got delicious soup on the agenda for tonight. And maybe going to bed extra early lol
