I really don't write on here as often as I should. Bearblog to me kind of occupies the section of my brain that wants to write a lot of long-form posts about my weird niche hobbies. I have tumblr and bluesky and stuff like that for when I feel like I want to write and post something quick and snappy, but I've been doing that less and less these days. So obviously I think it's time I try to use bearblog to find that happy medium! And I think that's just writing down random thoughts I have whenever I feel like it lmao. So here goes:
- I'm halfway through my current work contract so I should probably start updating my resume and throwing applications out there again just in case. My boss told me a few weeks ago he's doing everything he can to get it extended but it still seems very up in the air right now so we'll see. I'd like to stay; I think the job is definitely better than my agency job even if I still have to deal with frustrating situations and clients. But if I have to leave and find something else so be it. My savings are looking a lot healthier so maybe it'll be nice to take some more time off and worry a bit less.
- Halloween is coming up soon! I went to a fun party at my friend's place last weekend, my pinball spot is doing a Halloween party during our final league night and another friend is hosting a party the friday of Halloween so I will be very busy. I finally retired my Kratos costume and was a lumberjack this year. I kind of fuck with suspenders lol. Debating if I want to come up with a pinball-related costume to wear to my league halloween night but we'll see.
- Yesterday I went to Home Depot and picked up something I've wanted to get for a while - a Toto Washlet bidet. After using them in Japan all the time I really wanted one for my apartment and I ended up getting the base model that's just the bidet and the heated seat. And I LOVE IT!!!! My life is going to forever change now lol.
- Been in the habit of reading books on my phone on the train and during work downtime instead of scrolling and it's pretty nice. Honestly, I've been reading one of the Halo novels because I'm still on a Halo kick. It's fine... they're written a little too on the nose and not much happens but as like an action book, it's a decent little page turner and keeps me occupied. I also picked up yet another music biography at the bookstore last week, this one about Steely Dan.
- Lastly I've had Romeo by Basement Jaxx stuck in my head for weeks. Look it up on youtube.
