Drinking with Skeletons

10.12.2026

Ok last week was back to being pretty chill after the craziness of the week before lol. Our little pinball league started up two weeks ago but because of my concerts I missed both dates so this week I went twice to make up for it. I had some okay games but was definitely playing a little worse than usual (but had friends in both groups that week so that was a plus at least). I'm curious to see how our little pinball league is going to be this season. I wrote about this on here earlier but the venues I play pinball at broke off from the greater New England pinball league earlier this year and we've been doing our own thing ever since. The summer league was a ton of fun and now the fall league will be interesting because there's a third spot in Maine that's being added to the league. Part of the appeal of this new league to me was knowing the vast majority of the people I'm competing against and now that we have this new microcosm of people two states away we won't really know how we stack up until finals. Finals are also up in Maine which is both fun because I like the Maine spot but also is going to be a long day of driving a couple weeks before the holidays too so we'll see what happens.

Big weekend hanging out with friends: Friday did a mini ice cream crawl with some friends after work since one of our usual spots was doing free scoops for answering a couple questions about Boston area transit and our other spot was doing some really good fall seasonal flavors so we had to hit both. Then afterwards I got cozy on the couch when my friend texted me that she was going to be at the bar down the street from me in 30 minutes so obviously I had to go link up and have a beer and a hot dog. My stomach was certainly feeling it the next day lmao.

Got invited to a birthday party for another friend on Saturday and was specifically requested to bring an Xbox to play Halo 3 splitscreen. Also brought MW2 and Gears of War 2. Halo is still goated, I still am god awful at Call of Duty and I don't remember Gears 2 running so badly in split screen when I played it a ton as a kid. We are kind of spoiled with our 120fps 4k video games now! Also kind of funny that this kind of hangout is basically identical to what we did as kids but with alcohol involved now lmao.

Sunday went to the arcade with a couple friends to play DDR and pinball then afterwards went out for sushi to celebrate a friend getting a job after 8 months of unemployment. They also had us over for a "movie night" which was watching and discussing the 2019 classic youtube Dramageddon with Tati Westbrook and James Charles. I barely knew anything about it and was shocked to learn that it was spurred over vitamin instagram ads and not as shocked to learn that Jeffree Star kind of orchestrated the whole thing. What an era.

I also made the decision last week to end sessions with my current therapist. It was honestly hard to do because she is definitely the best therapist I've ever had and I made a ton of progress over the last year which has been amazing, but because of that I haven't really had much to bring to sessions for the last month or so. Also I think because I learned that a lot of my anxiety is actually OCD I need to pivot to more OCD focused therapy. Also it was kind of expensive... but hey the money will come back and I am doing much better than I was this time 18 months ago so all good.

Another busy week ahead which will make my one year weeknotes post next week a good read :)
