Drinking with Skeletons

08.31.2026

Hii monday. Pretty average week last week, work is sadly getting busy again but what can you do. Crazy that September is tomorrow. Summer always seems to go by too fast. At the beginning of the summer I attempted to make a list of all the stuff I wanted to do and I came up with two things: going to the harbor islands (did back in June) and go on the cop slide (haven't done yet). Of course summer ended up being way busier than that and I'm pretty happy about it. Got to see a lot of friends, spent a lot of time outside, got into a new hobby with birding and played a lot of fun video games. The only thing I didn't really do was have a real beach day instead of just hanging out at the shore while birding. But we'll see if we have one more hot weekend in September I can try to squeeze that in.

I visited my parents on Friday to go out and celebrate my mom's birthday. They are getting ready to sell the house in the next couple years so they've been doing a lot of work to get stuff fixed up. I had a handful of things still left at their house they wanted me to go through and bring back to the apartment. Very wide variety of stuff, some funny (a pair of DK bongo controllers for the gamecube), some bittersweet (lots of college graduation cards from a decade ago, some from relatives that aren't around anymore), but mostly stuff that reminded me how much time has passed since I was a kid. Found a yamaka from my friend's bar mitzvah that was held in 2007 (texted him about it and he said 20 years ago is too many) and old W2s from high school jobs (I made $1500 working chinese takeout my senior year!!). I got two boxes of stuff still in the trunk of my car that I don't really know what I'll do with but in my parents eyes at least it's not in their place anymore. We went out for dinner, drinks and the world's slowest trivia game at a local brewery so that was fun at least.

Saturday was the first day in weeks I had no plans and spent all of it on the couch playing video games. I got a bunch of new ones at the library that I've been playing through.

Sunday two of my friends had a joint birthday party at bow market, we hung out for a bit, did some shopping (found a copy of the newest Hayden Pedigo album at the record store which I bought instantly) then ate cake at their place. We ended up doing a couple jigsaw puzzles together LOL. Puzzles are kind of the vibe when you're in a big group... it's better than a board game. Maybe that's why Big Walk is so fun. Much to think about.
