Hi happy Wednesday. I had a blog written out Monday night but accidentally navigated away from the tab when I was trying to do the links and lost it all. Bearblog moment. I'll try to recreate it as best I can.
Last week was pretty quiet, it turns out that when you go outside during hazardous air quality you CAN actually get sick so I was mostly lying low. Sold a bunch of stuff on ebay at least. I've been slowly combing through my game collection and just all the STUFF I've accumulated over the years and trying to get rid of whatever I don't use. The extra money is nice too. I keep trying my luck on facebook marketplace also so I can try to get around paying ebay fees but dealing with people on there is an exercise in frustration at best. I listed a bunch of my FF14 merch for sale (seems like the end of an era!) and this guy messaged me looking to buy some of it, but after multiple attempts at trying to get him to confirm to a pickup date and location he bailed. At least have the balls to say you're not interested...
I was feeling better by the end of the week so I saw the Odyssey with friends on Saturday. I ended up really liking it. The last Nolan movie I had seen was The Dark Knight Rises (14 years ago... EEK) and I realize why people go crazy for his big blockbusters. It was kind of funny every time they would show a new character and it turned into a guess the celebrity moment. I think the cyclops part was my favorite - I loved its design, very Del Toro. I wasn't sure if it was our theater or the actual sound mixing but it was sooooo loud to the point where you couldn't hear half the dialogue. I'll watch it again when I have my nice little Criterion 4k bluray with subtitles on to catch everything I missed.
Sunday was another birding day back at Plum Island. We went to Little Wolf Coffee twice (lmao) and Bob Lobster for lunch too. Big shorebird day, saw tons of little plovers and a few new lifers. Was a really beautiful day, I love our little birding excursions and hikes but I'm really craving an actual beach day soon. I'm supposed to go up to Old Orchard Beach this weekend but if the weather ends up being bad I'll probably skip. Fingers crossed!
I have a couple things floating around in my mind for posts I want to write on here that aren't just weeknotes... something about all the Doom games I've been playing and I want to write something about the idea of "physical media" because I see it online all the time now and I think people are being annoying and performative about it. So look forward to that I guess lol.
