June first baby summer is basically here. And it's pride month! And I just got back from the movies. And it's Zangief's birthday. Crazy.
Saw two movies last week: Backrooms (which I saw twice because two different groups of friends wanted to see it) and Obsession which I just got back from as I write this. Both pretty good horror - Obsession definitely was my favorite of the two. Inde Navarrette carried and it was so tense and exciting. Backrooms was cool too, it looked amazing visually but the plot just wasn't really there. The second time I was seeing Backrooms apparently some meteor disintegrated near us and made a big boom because when I left the theater I had like 45 texts about it and we completely missed it lol. Movies are so back. I don't know what else is really coming out this summer though besides The Odyssey but I know we'll be doing more movie trips with pinball friends which I am very excited for.
Speaking of pinball friends we have been getting into birdwatching and I went along with them for the first time on Sunday. It was really nice, we went down to the Belle Isle Marsh reserve and hung out for a few hours walking around and spotting birds. And we saw a ton too - a couple huge ospreys and snowy egrets were the highlights. It's crazy how many varieties of birds there are... unless you're really looking you probably won't notice what the birds actually are. Was so nice getting up early on a sunday and getting outside with friends and talking with other bird people, plus the great diner breakfast we got afterwards definitely helped too.
I also want to make a list of things I want to do this summer and try to stick with them. So far I only have the boston cop slide and the harbor islands which I think we're hitting soon on a birding trip. Maybe a trip to the drive in? And the beach too of course. I think it's gonna be another sticking around Mass summer but a little weekend in NYC might be fun too. I'm excited especially because this year I've gotten closer with my pinball friends so I have a good group of people to do things with this summer. Our next LAN party is this weekend too so I have to start prepping that. Should be fun!
