Drinking with Skeletons

05.18.2026

Ok forcing myself to get back on the monday blogging routine now that my level of busyness is back to normal. What a few weeks it's been!! Mostly good stuff though lol. I'll start with good work news - my contract has been extended to the max which is in February. During a weekly standup my coworker straight up asked my boss when I'm getting converted to full time and it sounds like they can't do it now but they can keep me the maximum amount of time the contract program allows which is 18 months. So not quite the news I've been looking for but the fact that it sounds like its just red tape/having to play nice with the staffing agency I work for makes me feel hopeful. So we'll see what happens next year!

Did a bunch of music stuff last week, annual Porchfest on Saturday and saw Pinkpantheress on Wednesday. Porchfest was fun until it started absolutely downpouring by the end of it so we ended up hiding under the awning at Yafa bakery (which was a good excuse to finally check it out... amazing!!). Pinkpantheress was excellent, she's really improved as a performer and you could tell she was having a good time on stage. She played I think her whole catalog of songs too lol. Was a good time, the crowd was probably the best behaved young concert crowd I've been to and there were tons of good outfits.

Other big thing last week was my friend got married. I was one of his groomsmen so I had to dress up and rent a big fancy tux but I looked good. I asked my other friend to get a good pic of me in it but I was two modelos and a joint down so I ended up posing insane and it looked stupid so I guess I'll wait for the professional photos to come back lol. My friend married an Albanian woman so a bunch of her family were up to visit and they were all really cool and they played a lot of great Albanian dance music which was way more fun than the traditional American wedding songs. Also probably the most lowkey wedding I've ever been to but my friend that got married is a very lowkey guy so it's fitting. Was a very sweet ceremony and I was back home in bed by 11:30.

Which was needed because the next day I went to my first MIT SwapFest of the year. I've been trying to sell some of my video game collection and just random stuff (read: huge statues) but unfortunately most of my things were too niche for the SwapFest crowd so I'll have to try my luck on eBay instead. Shame people don't want Japan import Sega Dreamcast games! Oh well. I sold a couple things and did some browsing so it wasn't a total loss, but now I know for next time. Also I saw these OG Macs running Quake and Doom and I was soooo tempted lol.

This week is gonna be hot as hell so I forsee a lot of gaming inside in my future.
