Drinking with Skeletons

I'm back from Ireland and still fighting the jet lag. It was an amazing trip. Really fulfilling seeing a lot of family stuff and also just being in a new place. And my biggest fear of going on an actual family vacation for the first time in over a decade turned out to be not so bad after all. I'm working on a nice big writeup about it but it probably won't be ready for a couple weeks because I want to sort through all my pictures and also I'm just busy as hell the next few weeks. So please look forward to a big vacation post when I eventually get around to it.

Mariah and Nick came to visit before the trip and it was great as always to see them. I didn't get to hang out that much because I had to work but we did get good food and play pinball and mess around with musical instruments in the apartment. It was fun that my Ireland trip and their Copenhagen trip coincided so we were all texting each other about what we were doing. Sorry Justin who was still in California lol.

My boss told me yesterday that they are keeping me past my current contract again but he's still waiting on some last approvals before he officially tells me so that's good. He didn't say if it was a contract renewal or a full time hire BUT the way he said it kind of implied it'd be more than a renewal. At least that's how I interpreted it but maybe it's wishful thinking. I would take another contract renewal BUT he did say he was trying to get me hired this year, the other contractor just got converted to full time and they said they had budget for 2 people. Plus I'm learning the new PM system and I just got a bunch of new work assigned to me. I would like to get hired at the bank because I like working there and I would love to have a stable job with good PTO during this insane time in human history. But mainly because I would like to take a bunch of money out of my savings account to buy new clothes (especially for work) and not get scared about it.

I don't really know what else to write about this week that's not vacation related LOL. I got MLB The Show 26 from the library and I've been having fun with the games very detailed character editor that let me make a character that looks like a Three Stooges reject. I have a lot of new video games on hold at the library right now because I want to play stuff like Pragmata but not spend $60 on them. We love the library. I'm getting books from them too don't worry.
