I was too jazzed about the Halo LAN party that I decided to write about that instead of doing my weeknotes yesterday but I did do a lot of fun stuff last week so I'm taking 30 minutes from work to get another blog post out. Honestly I will be riding the high of friendship from that party for the next few weeks and hope we can do it again soon.
Speaking of friendship I'm just about packed to head to Canada tomorrow for the annual Blue Mountain trip with my friends. I'm very much looking forward to it but what I am NOT looking forward to is having to wake up at 4am tomorrow since my flight is at 6am. That's gonna be bad but at least I'll land early and have the day to kill while the rest of my friends show up. Then on Sunday when I go back home it'll be the same thing again. Don't book a flight less than a month before a trip. I am very excited to snowboard though, haven't gone this year at all despite the 2 feet of snow on the ground and I got freshly repaired bindings so I'm ready to shred and play lots of Doom and Quake split screen in the hotel room.
My birthday was last weekend and besides the party I also celebrated by seeing Nine Inch Nails live. I missed them last time they were here back in August so when they announced a new leg of the tour I jumped on it. And I'm glad they did because they were incredible. Trent still sounds just like he does on the records. Was also really excited to hear The Perfect Drug live (with amazing sounding drums). Great crowd too! I hope to be able to see them again sometime.
I also got tickets to American Football's tour this summer (they keep teasing new music too... very excited) AND Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American 25th anniversary tour with Thrice, which is probably my most anticipated show of the year so far. It's gonna be a big year for emo.
But yeah things are getting busy again which is good. I really need a vacation because I haven't taken real time off work since I started this job 6 months ago. It's hard to want to take time off when you don't get paid for it but I saved a ton of money last year to be able to go on trips with my friends and now it's time to actually do it. Plus the snow and cold has been making me want to stay inside and rot more which isn't good. At least it's gonna get warmer soon. Bring on spring pleaseeeeee.
