We made it through the first big snowstorm of the year. And I guess there's a second one happening next weekend but we'll see how it pans out. The prediction was 2 feet of snow over Sunday into today and I think we got about 16 inches? Still a ton though especially when you live in a city where everything is so close together. Thankful that the apartment building I live in now has garage parking. Everything is very pretty out though so I'll take some pics if I decide to go into the office tomorrow.
Speaking of snow, my friends Canada ski trip next month is finally booked. We waited a little too long to get the flights so it was expensive but whatever. I missed the trip last year because I was in Japan so I'm excited to see my friends and get some good snowboarding in. I have to remember to order a new binding strap this week so that I'm all ready. And I still have to get a rental car lol but that can also happen this week.
Last week my friends and I went to a very popular spot called Backbar for drinks and the vibes were kind of insane. I tried going there last summer with friends but the line is always down the street to get in and this time we were able to get in but we were standing at a little tiny table next to the front door. Also it's like Star Wars themed for some reason? I didn't realize that part until our server was like "Do you guys want to move to the Millennium Falcon room" which I guess is their party room so we were like sure. It definitely did look like the inside of a spaceship for better or worse but it was even more disconnected from the rest of the bar so it was weird. Then they were like Oh we're gonna put another group of people in here with you but thankfully a table opened up and they moved us outta there. My drink was really good though, they had a Lord of the Rings themed menu and I got something called the Balgrog which I honestly forget what was in it besides rum but they blowtorched it and it came in a skull mug. So it wasn't all bad but I'm not chomping at the bit to go back lol.
Also my friend bought 6 copies of Modern Warfare 2 for my lan party in a few weeks so now we have 8 copies of it in the apartment. In 2009 this would have gone crazyyyyy
