It's a beautiful snowy day out today (and I have the day off) so you know I've been in sweats all day doing nothing and it has been wonderful. Very glad I did all my grocery shopping before the storm so I don't have to leave the house today haha.
I've definitely mentioned this on the blog before but I'm planning a Halo 3 LAN party for my birthday next month and yesterday was the playtest of it. It ran very smoothly and was so fun. We had 4 Xboxes, 4 TVs and enough controllers (and people) to play 11 players at once. The setup was pretty easy too, just having to get the Xbox Ones updated and able to run the game on backwards compatibility was the hardest part but actually running cables and a switch through our apartment was easy. For the actual party, we'll try and get some more consoles and controllers to hit the 16 person max which would be really cool.
I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with video games over the last few years but I forgot how much fun they are when you play in the same room with your friends. I haven't done a lan since college and yeah they do require a lot of setup but I wish I tried to do this more since then! Plus all my friends had a great time too which is what it's all about.
Besides that it's been business as usual for me. Finished the last of my annoying projects at work and my boss says he's going to try and get me hired full time this year so that would be great. Visited one of the new Boston Michelin recommended restaurants Zhi Wei Cafe which was insanely good and my friend had us over for hot pot which was also very tasty. Saw the new 28 Years Later movie too which to be honest, I never saw the first part but I still enjoyed as a standalone.
Also... facebook marketplace. I don't think anyone actually buys or sells anything on there! Just listing for the vibes. I needed controllers for the LAN and messaged 3 separate people that were selling. Two of them never responded and the third cancelled on me 30 minutes before I left to pick them up. You have to laugh.
